How It Happened
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – For the second consecutive game, Wilkes used a big third period to complete the comeback against Lebanon Valley in a 6-3 game on Friday night. The Dutchmen dropped to 6-8-2, 4-4-2 UCHC, 2-2-1 MAC, while the Colonels improved to 12-4-0, 8-2-0 UCHC, 5-0-0 MAC.

1:27 into the first period, Bryan Hovanec got the Dutchmen, who had revenge on their minds, on the board first with a goal from TJ Sneath and Tino Alunni. Later in the first, at the 7:39 mark, Donald Flynn evened the game for Wilkes with a tally and the two teams were locked at 1-1 heading into second-period action.

Once again, LVC struck early on when Alex Borowiec found the back of the net just 23 seconds into the middle period from Brett Johnson and Mike Straub. Then, at 13:25, Kevin Van Bokkelen scored her first of the year off assists from Brad Nolan and Straub to increase the Dutchmen's advantage to two at 3-1. Then, with just a minute and 50 seconds left in the second, the Colonels' Phil Erickson made it a one-goal game at 3-2, but LVC still went into the third period with a lead.

Similar to these two teams' last meeting, Wilkes scored early in the third and never looked back. Flynn netted his second of the night 59 seconds into the third, and that was the first of four consecutive goals scored by the home team, as they overtook the Dutchmen and went on to win 6-3.
