How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley picked up a 3-2 non-conference victory over Post University in women's ice hockey action on Wednesday afternoon inside Hersheypark Arena. The Dutchmen jumped to 3-12-0, while the Eagles fell to 6-14-0.

For much of the opening period, neither team could find the back of the net thanks to solid goaltending from Jill Moffatt and Jenna Baumgartner. LVC, however, broke through and went up 1-0 after Taylor Borrelli roped a shot off a faceoff from Olivia Cindrich to give the Dutchmen a 1-0 advantage after one period of action.

At the 16:19 mark of the second, Amy Templeman padded LVC's lead when she scored on the power play from Cindrich and Caitlyn Keenan for the period's lone goal. The Dutchmen went into third-period action with a 2-0 lead.

Just 2:41 into the third, Post cut it to a one-goal deficit when Kathleen Takita scored a short-handed tally. From there until the final minutes, LVC couldn't pull away and the Eagles were unable to tie it. With just over two and a half minutes to go in the third, Cindrich gave the Dutchmen a 3-1 lead off an assist from Jennifer Wilson. Then, with 1:05 remaining, the Eagles' Takita scored again, this time on the power play, to come to within one at 3-2. In the final minute of play, Post pulled Baumgartner for the extra attacker, but LVC was able to stave off the potential tie and held on for the narrow 3-2 victory.
