How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley suffered a 5-0 setback to Utica on Saturday afternoon in UCHC women's ice hockey action. The Dutchmen fell to 2-12-0, 1-11-0 UCHC and the Pioneers improved to 12-3-0, 9-1-0 UCHC.

Early on, things were quite similar to how yesterday's opening period progressed. Utica saw several scoring chances, but Jill Moffatt stood tall and didn't allow any shots past her. LVC also generated some scoring opportunities, but Ryann Stripp was up for the task and the contest remained scoreless after one period of play.

At 8:41 of the second period, however, the visitors netted the game's first goal when Olivia Hirschy found the back of the net. Just under six minutes later, at 14:10, Rebecca Brown gave the Pioneers a 2-0 cushion, and Taylor Dion then scored a little over three minutes later at 17:22 to give Utica a 3-0 advantage heading into the third period.

25 seconds into the third, Hirschy netted her second of the afternoon to make it a 4-0 score. In the final minute of the period, the Dutchmen drew a penalty and Chloe Glass had two terrific chances to score, but Stripp made two big saves to preserve the shutout. Elizabeth Dohner scored a short-handed goal with one second left and Utica went on to win 5-0.
