How It Happened
Lebanon Valley's men's soccer team scored two goals in each half and defeated Keystone 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action in Annville. The Dutchmen won their second straight and moved to 2-1, while the Giants dropped to 2-2.
Keystone netted the match's first goal, in the 20th minute, when Carlos Bonilla received a pass from the left and made a move to score and give the Giants an early 1-0 lead. It didn't take the Dutchmen long to respond, though, as the Dutchmen drew a foul inside the box in the 22nd minute, resulting in
Jake Kline's penalty kick. Kline went left side, and the ball tipped off Marcelo Polar's fingertips and into the back of the net to even the game at 1-1.
Just over four minutes later, in the 26th minute,
Riley Katshir recorded his first tally of the season as his first shot was blocked, but the next ball came right to his feet and he beat the Giants' defender to give LVC a 2-1 advantage, a score that held up heading into halftime.
Early in the second half, in the 50th minute, the Dutchmen got a corner kick and after the scrum,
Braydon Shuck delivered a pretty pass to Katshir who netted his second of the game, making it a 3-1 score. In the 63rd minute, Keystone got one back when Daniel Zuniga scored a header off Sebastian Bonilla's free kick from 30 yards out, bringing the Giants to within one at 3-2.
The Dutchmen put a very chippy game out of reach in the 82nd minute when Shuck's first two shots were saved, but the third time was the charm as he beat the goalie for his first goal of the season to put the game on ice at 4-2.
