How It Happened
In Lebanon Valley's MAC Commonwealth opener, the Dutchmen were edged by Widener by a 1-0 score on Saturday afternoon at Herbert Field. The Dutchmen fell to 4-3-1, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth, while the Pride improved to 3-3-2, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth.

In the 80th minute of action, Widener sent a cross into the box and Serena Donmoyer dove for it and came up empty, allowing Belle Abrams to gather the ball for a moment and shoot the ball through defenders, giving the Pride a 1-0 lead.

Later, in the 85th minute, the Dutchmen saw their best chance in the last five minutes of play to even the score, however Rileigh Jo Evitts' shot went high and Widener was able to hold on for the narrow win.

LVC generated several scoring chances in the opening half, but couldn't get one past Widener's goalkeeper Delaney Sabath. Maya Cohen had an early opportunity to score in the 13th minute, but Sabath made the stop. Then, Bridgett Finn's corner kick in the 22nd minute of action led to Cheyenne Scott's header attempt, but it sailed just wide of the frame.

Inside the Numbers
 - The Dutchmen led in total shots at 10-9, but the Pride held the edge in shots on goal at 7-6.
