Match One - No. 24 Christopher Newport def. Lebanon Valley 3-0 (11-25, 20-25, 12-25)
How It Happened
FROSTBURG, Md. – In Lebanon Valley's first match of the day and second overall at the Frostburg University Quad, the Dutchmen dropped a 3-0 match to No. 24 Christopher Newport.
In the opening set, the Captains jumped out to a quick 8-2 advantage. Following an LVC timeout, Allie Plumlee committed a service ace to stop the bleeding momentarily. After a
Jayna Class kill made brought the Dutchmen to within six at 11-5, Chris. Newport answered with five consecutive points to go up 15-5. The Captains went on to take the opening set 25-11.
In the middle set, after Chris. Newport jumped out to a 5-1 lead, LVC went on an impressive 8-0 spurt, capped by a
Jess Attieh kill, to take an 9-5 advantage. The Dutchmen continued to lead, but at 17-13, the Captains went on a significant 6-0 run to take a 19-17 lead. After LVC came to within one at 19-18, Chris. Newport again answered with a critical spurt, this time a 4-0 run to go up 23-18. The Captains then held on to win the second set 25-20.
Chris. Newport hopped out to a quick 11-4 advantage in the third set, but the Dutchmen hung around thanks to a Captains' service ace, followed by a kill from
Mikiah Sangrey. In the end, however, Chris. Newport proved to be too much and never allowed LVC to get any closer, as the Captains won the third set 25-12 to take the match 3-0.

- Attieh ended with five kills, while Shelly added four and
Amber Deshong chipped in three.

Erin Koons notched a pair of service aces to lead the Dutchmen.

Match Two – Lebanon Valley def. Frostburg St. 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-16)
How It Happened
In the Dutchmen's final match in Frostburg, LVC swept the hosts by a 3-0 margin to finish with a 2-1 record in the Quad. LVC now sits at 8-8 overall this season.
In the early stages of the first set, the Dutchmen held a narrow 7-6 lead before LVC rattled off three straight points, including a pair of kills from
Amanda Sides, to take a 10-6 lead. Slowly, the Bobcats tried to battle back and came to within a pair at 18-16, but back-to-back kills from Class and
Jensen Burnheimer put the Dutchmen back up by four and LVC went on to win the opening set 25-19.
The Dutchmen opened an 11-7 advantage in the middle set, which ended up being the most competitive frame of the match. Frostburg then went on an 8-4 run to knot the set at 15-15. Then, with the set still tied at 23-23, Sangrey and Sides registered two consecutive kills to finish off the set in style for LVC at 25-23.
In the final set, the Dutchmen led 13-10 before scoring seven straight points to increase their advantage to 20-10 in a critical point in the match. The Bobcats came to within eight at 24-16, but Shelly finished off Frostburg with a kill from Attieh to win the set 25-16 and the match 3-0.

- Attieh led the way with 13 kills, five blocks, and two assists.
- Sides went for nine kills and two aces.
- Burnheimer finished with 31 assists.

Emily Smeltz continued to dominate defensively, as the sophomore finished with a match-high 25 digs.

LVC jumps back into MAC Commonwealth action on Wednesday night when the Dutchmen host Albright inside Sorrentino Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
