SELINSGROVE, Pa. – In the team's first road match of the young season, Lebanon Valley men's tennis fell 6-3 at Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 22.
The Flying Dutchmen (0-2) dropped all three doubles matches despite a valiant effort by
Reed Morris and
Elliott Kleckner in the No. 2 contest, as the pairing were edged 9-8 by SU's Ben Ornstein and Ryan Seibert.
In singles action, Justin Scheutz was LVC's top player to emerge victorious. The freshman defeated Ornstein 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in the No. 2 matchup. Morris was especially strong in solo play, defeating Alexander Cocolas 6-1, 6-1 in the third pairing, while
Ben Hinkley earned Lebanon Valley's final win of the day with a 6-1, 1-6, 10-7 decision over Seibert in the No. 5 outing.
LVC will be idle for the next two weeks while preparing for the team's final dual match of the fall against Eastern on Thursday, Oct. 11.
