How It Happened
Lebanon Valley dropped a 3-0 contest to Stevenson on Wednesday night inside Sorrentino Gymnasium in MAC Commonwealth volleyball action. The Dutchmen fell to 4-6, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth, while the Mustangs jumped to 7-6, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth.
Early in the first, LVC looked strong and opened an 8-4 lead. From there, however, Stevenson answered with five consecutive points to overtake the Dutchmen at 9-8. After two straight tallies from LVC, including a
Jess Attieh kill and
Reily Shelly service, the Mustangs again went on a run, this time an 8-0 spurt to go up 17-10. Later in the set, with Stevenson up 23-15, the Dutchmen crept back and scored four straight points, including a pair of kills from sides, to come to within four at 23-19, but Stevenson finished off the set with back-to-back points to take the opener 25-19.
In the second set, the Mustangs jumped out to a 11-5 advantage, but three straight tallies from LVC brought the Dutchmen back to within three at 11-8. From there, LVC was unable to get any closer and dropped the second set by a 25-15 margin.
The third set featured back-and-forth action and several runs. Early on, Stevenson led 12-6, but the Dutchmen responded with five straight points, beginning with a kill from Shelly, followed by another by
Reina Eckman. Then, Sides served up three straight aces to bring LVC to within two at 12-10, which lead to a Stevenson timeout. The set continued to stay close from there, and with the Mustangs up 23-20,
Jayna Class registered a kill and
Kaitlyn Reed's ace brought the Dutchmen to within one at 23-22. In the end however, Stevenson closed out the set and edged LVC 25-23 to take the match.
Inside the Numbers
 - Attieh finished with eight kills, one ace, one block assist, and two digs.
 - Shelly chipped in six kills and four digs for the Dutchmen.
 - Sides served up a team-high four aces and recorded four kills and a pair of digs.

Jensen Burnheimer ended with a team-high 22 assists and six digs.
 - As a team, LVC had eight aces.
 - Katie Leftridge and Moriah Savage led Stevenson's offense with 11 kills apiece.
Who's Next?
LVC travels to Glassboro, N.J. this Saturday to partake in Rowan's Tri-Match. The Dutchmen battle the hosts on Saturday at 11 a.m. before taking on Hunter College at 1 p.m.
