How It Happened
Lebanon Valley shut out King's (Pa.) to win its third game in four outings, earning a 2-0 victory at Arnold Field on Wednesday night, Sept. 19.

Much of the first half saw the majority of the action being played in the midfield. Despite a number of penalty corner attempts, the Flying Dutchmen (3-4) were unable to find the back of the cage until Cecile Kat got things rolling with a nice run toward the King's goal in the 25th minute. The forward drove the ball towards the end line and made a move to get around Monarch goalkeeper Brianne Maluda. Kat pushed the ball towards the goal and Isabella Vulopas made a nice run to finish off the feed into the right side of the cage at the 9:55 mark of the first half.

The second half proved a different story, as LVC controlled possession for much of the final 35 minutes. The Dutchmen racked up penalty corners in bunches and kept the pressure on King's (4-4) in the visitors' half of the field.

Kat proved the catalyst of the home team's offensive output as the game wound down. Her aggressiveness paid off when she plowed her way through a couple of Monarch defenders before forcing her ninth goal of the season past Maluda to double the Lebanon Valley advantage in the 63rd minute.
