ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team hosted York (Pa.) for the opening match of the program's 2018-19 campaign at the Shankroff Tennis Center, falling to the visitors 7-2 on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 16.
The talented Spartans (2-0) emerged with an early cushion after winning all three doubles matches to begin the contest.
Singles action saw things go differently, with freshman
Justin Schuetz starting off his collegiate career with an impressive 6-0, 6-2 victory over Sam Innerst in the No. 2 singles match, giving the Flying Dutchmen (0-1) their first solo win of the season.
Reed Morris also secured decision thanks to a 6-4, 6-1 win over Joel Hess in the No. 3 matchup. While they ultimately fell to their York (Pa.) counterparts,
Blake Martin and
Luke Senft forced three sets before bowing out in the No. 1 and No. 5 singles matches, respectively.
LVC is back at it when the squad travels to Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 22.
