How It Happened
Lebanon Valley went stride for stride with one of the nation's top teams for 90 minutes and then some before falling 1-0 to No. 19 Misericordia in overtime at Herbert Field on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 12.

The Flying Dutchmen (2-1-1) suffered their first loss of the young season despite an outstanding defensive effort that stifled the visiting Cougars (4-0-1) for nearly the entire outing. Goaltender
Serena Donmoyer was especially impressive, making eight saves that included a pair of sliding stops in one-on-one situations in crunch time.

After two scoreless halves, things continued into the extra session, with Donmoyer turning away two MU attempts before Katherine Field finished off a pass from Zoee Farr with a header from the left side of the box to net the game's first and only marker in the 97th minute.

Kira Pushart got off a solid attempt with her left foot midway through the overtime period and
Rileigh Jo Evitts was able to create space and get a look late in regulation but neither of the two shots found their mark, with Pushart's being stopped by Misericordia goalkeeper Alexis Benedetto and Evitts' missing wide left.

Maya Cohen got off LVC's lone shot on goal in the first half, while Donmoyer turned away a pair of Cougar attempts during the opening 45 minutes.
