How It Happened
In a game during which Lebanon Valley dominated possession, the Flying Dutchmen (1-0-1) were forced to settle for a scoreless, double overtime draw with Ursinus at Herbert Field on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 1.

On two separate occasions, LVC looked poised to net the contest's first goal but unfortunately on both attempts, those shots were off the mark by the narrowest of margins, hitting the crossbar and missing twine by a matter of inches. The first came courtesy of Rileigh Jo Evitts in the opening half, while the second came off the foot of Carly Kleintop early in the second half.

It was that second chance that proved more controversial than the other, with Kleintop's attempt seemingly allowing for Katie Goldsmith to charge the rebound and fire her attempt past Ursinus goalkeeper Sabrina Doherty early in the second half. Instead, she was whistled for an offside call, negating the apparent strike and keeping things even at 0-0.

Lebanon Valley was the more aggressive team for nearly the entire final 20 minutes of regulation and both overtime sessions but despite a number of corner opportunities and solid looks on the Bears' end, the home team was unable to come away with the game winner.

Inside the Numbers
- Saturdays' game was LVC's first overtime contest since Oct. 7 of last year when the Dutchmen fell 1-0 at Albright.

- Katie Goldsmith led the way with three shots on goal for LVC.
- Lucy McGloshen, Emma Longenecker, and Rileigh Jo Evitts each managed a pair of shots on goal.
- Ursinus goalkeeper Sabrina Doherty made 12 saves in net.
