How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dropped a MAC Commonwealth contest to Widener by an 8-4 margin on Monday afternoon. The Dutchmen fell to 8-13, 4-7 MAC Commonwealth, while the Pride jumped to 13-12, 7-5 MAC Commonwealth.

LVC jumped out to an early advantage when Nick O'Shea's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first scored Trevor Bertsch, who singled earlier in the inning. Later in the first, Michael Leri ripped a single through the left side to score Bryan Towers and make it 2-0.

The top of the third, however, proved to be the difference and the turning point in the contest. The Pride plated seven runs thanks to a few hits and three LVC errors to take a 7-2 lead. In the bottom of the inning, the Dutchmen got one back when Colin Albright singled home O'Shea, but in the top of the sixth, Nick D'Alessandro homered to left center to put Widener back on top by five at 8-3. In the bottom of the sixth, Marty Kiessling singled up the middle to score Trevor Bertsch, but that was all of the offense the Dutchmen could find for the remainder of the game.

Inside the Numbers
 - Bertsch finished the day going 3-for-6 at the plate.
 - Towers, Kiessling, and Leri registered two hits apiece.
