How It Happened
It was all Lebanon Valley in the team's 12-1 rout of conference foe Alvernia at Arnold Field on Saturday afternoon, April 7.
Kevin Beaver led the way on offense by recording a hat trick and adding a pair of assists to finish with a team-high five total points.
Max Warmingham racked up three points of his own thanks to two goals and a helper,
Adam Filbert had his first multi-goal game of the season, and
Matt Torrence and
Evan Crawford each finished with one goal and an assist.
The Flying Dutchmen (6-5, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth) took control from the jump when Beaver found the back of the net just 59 seconds into the contest. He added an assist on Torrence's goal less than five minutes later and Warmingham added his first marker of the afternoon with 4:57 to play in the opening quarter.
Warmingham went back-to-back when he found twine at the 13:31 mark of the second quarter and Crawford made it 5-0 when he put his attempt past AU goalkeeper Jacob O'Donnell at the 11:23 mark.
Alex Bushong got into the scoring act with a goal two minutes later off a Warmingham feed,
Mason Hoff converted his attempt off a Beaver assist at the 5:29 mark, and Crawford hooked up with Filbert to make it 8-0 at halftime.
Beaver netted both of LVC's goals in the third quarter to complete the hat trick, with the second of the period coming off a look from Torrence. The Dutchmen put the finishing touches on their scoring in the fourth quarter thanks to a goal from
Trevor Holak and a
Nick Mowry to Filbert combination before Austin Lucas prevented the shutout for the Golden Wolves (0-9, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth) with a marker in the final minute.
