How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – In game one of a doubleheader this afternoon, Lebanon Valley earned an 8-6 win over Stevenson to clinch the regular-season series. The Dutchmen improved to 7-10, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth, while the Mustangs dropped to 12-13, 4-7 MAC Commonwealth.

Similar to yesterday's game, the Dutchmen wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard in the first game, as TJ Holdredge knocked a two-RBI single into left center in the bottom of the second to score Bryan Towers and Trevor Bertsch. Later in the inning, Josh Herring singled home Josh Marcelli, giving LVC an early 3-0 cushion.

After Stevenson got one back in the top of the second off starter Kyle Kingsbury, Nick O'Shea hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third to put the Dutchmen back up by three at 4-1. Later in the frame, Josh Herring stole home thanks to a failed pickoff attempt to make it a 5-1 score. The Mustangs' Kevin Murray Jr. brought the Mustangs to within two in the top of the fourth thanks to a two-RBI single, however a MArcelli double to left center in the bottom of the fourth made it 6-3 in favor of the Dutchmen.

In the top of the fifth, Billy Small hit a home run to right center, but in the bottom of the sixth, with LVC up 7-4, Marcelli answered with a home run to left field to make it 8-4. Stevenson scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but Ryan Showalter, who relieved Kingsbury at the start of the inning, held off the Mustangs to give the Dutchmen the 8-6 win.
