ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 9-0 sweep of MAC Commonwealth foe Albright at the Shankroff Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon, April 28.
The Flying Dutchmen (10-7, 5-2 MAC Commonwealth) were hot out of the gate, taking all three doubles outings from the Lions (2-15, 0-7 MAC Commonwealth).
Blake Martin and
Reed Morris handled Dyland Okonski and Noah Jessie 8-3 in the top contest,
Jordan Heavel and
Elliott Kleckner went over Dylan Rutt and Zach Schultheis 8-2 in the second matchup, and
Samuel Miller and
Jonathan Yenser rolled David Sylvester and Brody Brown 8-1 in the No. 3 outing.
That dominance continued in singles action, with Martin winning the No. 1 pairing 6-2, 6-0 over Okonski, Morris holding off Jessie with a 6-3, 7-5 win in the No. 2 slot, and Heavel handling Rutt 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 3 matchup. In the fourth outing,
Luke Senft got into the scoring act with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Schultheis, while both Kleckner and
Ben Hinkley picked up 6-0, 6-0 sweeps in the No. 5 and No. 6 contests, respectively.
LVC capped another double-digit victory season with the win and sealed the No. 3 seed in the upcoming MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament. The Dutchmen will travel to take on Stevenson in semifinal action on Wednesday afternoon, May 2.
