How It Happened
Needing a win in order to make next week's MAC Commonwealth Tournament, Lebanon Valley delivered and defeated Albright by a 7-5 score to clinch a playoff spot on Saturday afternoon in conference men's lacrosse action in Reading. The Flying Dutchmen ended the regular season at 9-7, 4-4 MACC, while the Lions failed to reach the postseason and ended their season at 5-10, 3-5 MACC.

With LVC clinging to a 5-3 lead at the start of the second half, Albright's Nick Tonno scored an unassisted goal at 13:44 of the third quarter to bring the Lions to within a goal. Later in the third, at 4:17, Kevin Beaver put the Dutchmen back up by two after he recorded his third score of the game. Just over a minute later, the home team again made it a one-score game at 6-5, but in the final minute of the third, Mason Hoff scored his 12th of the season, off an assist from Koty Keefer, to put LVC back up by two. In the fourth quarter, neither team was able to score and Cam Epple proved a brick wall between the pipes to guide the Dutchmen to their playoff-clinching win.

Early on, Beaver netted the game's first goal at 13:51 of the first thanks to Max Warmingham's feed. Soon after, at 10:30, the Lions evened the score at 1-1 with Tonno's first tally of the game. From there, LVC scored three consecutive goals to take a 4-1 advantage. Beaver found the back of the net at 4:53 of the first to make it 2-1, followed by a Warmingham tally at 10:45 of the second and Hoff's goal at 4:45 of the second. Albright responded with back-to-back goals at 4:10 and 00:27 of the second, but Warmingham made it a two-goal game with 14 seconds remaining off an assist from Matt Torrence.
