How It Happened (Game One)
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley split a doubleheader with Alvernia in the Dutchmen's final two home games of the 2018 season. LVC earned a 3-1 victory in the opening game, behind TJ Holdredge and Kyle Kingsbury. Before the game, Colin Albright, Jon Harned, and Marty Kiessling were honored on Senior Day.

In the top of the second inning, the Golden Wolves' Celiano singled home Salesky to give Alvernia a one-run lead. Alvernia saw several other scoring chances throughout the contest, but Kingsbury was able to wiggle out of several jams and keep the Golden Wolves' potent offense at bay.

In the bottom of the sixth with Alvernia still up 1-0, Josh Herring began the winning with a walk, followed by Trevor Bertsch's sacrifice bunt that moved Herring over to second. After Josh Marcelli drew a walk, Holdredge came up to bat and after taking a first-pitch strike, Holdredge crushed the next pitch over the left field wall, giving the Dutchmen the 3-1 lead.

In the top of the seventh, Kingsbury allowed a lead-off double, but got the next batter via strikeout. After Hunter Hart walked to put runners on first and second, Kingsbury coaxed a groundout, followed by a flyout to give LVC the 3-1 victory.
