How It Happened
Kevin Beaver's goal 54 seconds into overtime completed his hat trick and gave Lebanon Valley a thrilling 8-7 come-from-behind victory at Arcadia on Wednesday night, April 25.
Beaver paced the offense with four total points, while
Coleman Wagner caused a game-high three turnovers on the defensive side.
Max Warmingham finished with a goal and an assist and
Barrett Campbell and
Eli Hudson each scooped up a team-best five ground balls.
Beaver's game-winner came after he netted back-to-back markers with less than three minutes to play in the fourth quarter to erase a two-goal deficit for the Flying Dutchmen (8-7, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth). His first came at the 2:14 mark before he converted the equalizer with 58 seconds remaining.
LVC trailed 5-4 after three quarters but
Evan Crawford's unassisted score at the 7:25 mark of the final period drew the visitors even. Warmingham's strike off a
Koty Keefer assist put the Dutchmen out in front 4-3 early in the third but the Knights (6-7, 2-5 MAC Commonwealth) scored two consecutive goals to take back the lead.
Mason Hoff's man-up goal off a feed from Beaver tied the game at 3-3 with 11:05 left in the second quarter and the score held heading into halftime.
The Dutchmen jumped out to an early two-goal advantage when
Josh Croyle find twine off a Warmingham helper before
Alex Bushong converted a score with an assist from
Matt Torrence at the 5:11 mark of the first quarter.
Inside the Numbers
- LVC outshot the home team 42-29 overall and 25-21 in shots on goal.
- The Dutchmen turned it over just 12 times, compared to 22 turnovers for Arcadia.
- Lebanon Valley gathered up 36 ground balls. The Knights scooped up 29.
- LVC was 24-of-27 on clear attempts, while Arcadia finished 16-of-19 on the clear.
- The home team won the faceoff battle 14-to-4.

Playoff Picture
LVC currently sits fifth in the MAC Commonwealth standings. The winner of Saturday's regular-season finale between the Dutchmen and league foe Albright will clinch the final spot in the upcoming conference championship tournament.
