Men's Tennis Escapes Harrisburg With Slim Victory

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team edged out Penn State Harrisburg in a hard-fought non-conference outing by a 5-4 decision at the Hoverter Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon, April 12.

After dropping two doubles matches to the Lions (3-12), the Flying Dutchmen (7-6) got a valuable win the No. 3 contest thanks to Luke Senft and Ben Hinkley narrowly defeating Jared Gluck and Alex Rohn 9-8 in a matchup that helped give LVC the overall victory.

Blake Martin won the No. 1 singles showdown by a 6-4, 6-0 mark over Penn State Harrisburg's Pranoy Banka and Jordan Heavel came away with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Ryan McCurdy in the third outing. Senft and Hinkley went 2-for-2 on the day when Senft defeated Gluck 6-4, 7-6 in the No. 5 match and Hinkley bested Noah Nacionales in the sixth slot.

The Dutchmen will now turn their sights back to MAC Commonwealth play for the rest of the spring, beginning with a road match at Alvernia on Saturday afternoon.
