How It Happened
Lebanon Valley closed out its second day of competition in Kissimmee, Fla. with a 5-2 victory over Westminster (Pa.) on Tuesday night, March 6.

The Flying Dutchmen (2-2) racked up 11 hits in the contest and
Maddie Abbot was stout in picking up the complete-game victory inside the circle.

LVC got on the board early thanks to a sacrifice fly by
Tianna Yanoscak that drove in
Annie McClain in the bottom of the first inning. Before the stanza was out, the Dutchmen added another tally when
Madison Watson's RBI single plated
Cheyanne Brown.

Westminster (2-4) responded with a pair of runs in the top of the second but Lebanon Valley used three hits to plate two more tallies in the bottom of the third. Yanoscak again drove in McClain on a sac fly before
Savannah Toth's two-out double scored pinch-runner
Jen Kaufman from first base to make it 4-2.

After a couple of scoreless frames, the Dutchmen added an insurance run with two away in the bottom of the sixth thanks to McClain's bases-loaded single that scored
Sam Weaver.

Abbot retired the Titans 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh to seal the victory and get LVC back to the .500 mark on the young season.
