How It Happened
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Lebanon Valley succumbed to a seven-run inning and eventually fell to Penn State Behrend by an 11-7 margin on Monday afternoon in non-conference baseball action during LVC's spring break trip. The Dutchmen dropped to 2-1, while the Lions jumped to 1-3.

LVC jumped out to an early lead when Colin Albright hit a sacrifice fly to center field to plate Michael Leri in the second, followed by a Chris DeClerico RBI-single in the top of the third, making it 2-0 Dutchmen. After Behrend registered an RBI-groundout in the third to come to within one, LVC scored four in the fourth, beginning with Jon Harned's RBI-single to left, followed by a bases-loaded walk by Josh Herring. Bryan Towers then singled to score Albright, and DeClerico hit a sac-fly to plate Harned, making it a 6-1 game.

Unfortunately, the Lions exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to jump out in front at 8-6. In the top of the seventh, Marcelli hit an RBI-groundout to bring the Dutchmen to within one, however Behrend tacked on another run in the seventh and two more in the eighth and held on for the 11-7 win.

Inside the Numbers
