How It Happened
CHESTER, Pa. – Lebanon Valley won its first conference game of the season on Saturday afternoon, a 6-1 victory over Widener. The Dutchmen improved to 5-9, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth and the Pride fell to 7-10, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth.
Colin Albright continued an impressive senior campaign when he doubled home
Josh Marcelli in the top of the second to begin the scoring.
TJ Holdredge then flew out to center to plate
Nick O'Shea and increase LVC's lead to 2-0. Widener got one back off starting pitcher
Kyle Kingsbury in the bottom of the third, but Marcelli launched a solo home run to left center in the top of the fourth to put the Dutchmen up 3-1.
O'Shea gave LVC some more breathing room in the top of the sixth when he doubled home
Marty Kiessling, and Holdredge then singled home O'Shea and Marcelli. That was all Kingsbury needed en route to his complete-game win.
Inside the Numbers (Game One)
- Kingsbury earned his second win of the season after allowing just one earned run while striking out a pair and inducing 10 fly-ball outs.
- Marcelli and O'Shea each registered a pair of hits and an RBI.
- Holdredge finished with a team-high three RBI.

How It Happened
A three-run third inning by the Pride in the nightcap proved to be the difference, giving Widener a narrow 4-2 win over the Dutchmen in game two. LVC now sits at 5-10, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth and the Pride moved to 8-10, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth.
In the bottom of the third, Nick D'Alessandro hit a three-run home run on the first pitch he saw, giving Widener a 3-2 lead with one swing of the bat. Then, in the sixth, Guarino singled home Garofalo to make it 4-2, and the Dutchmen were unable to make a comeback.
LVC got both of their runs in the top of the first, beginning with Kiessling's RBI-groundout, followed by Marcelli's sacrifice fly to center field.

Josh Herring recorded two hits in the second game to lead the offense.

Dylan Stephen tossed three innings and allowed three earned runs and struck out four.

Jake Williams pitched the final three innings and allowed just an earned run to go along with four punch outs.

LVC and Widener are scheduled to play the rubber game on Monday at McGill Field at 3:30 p.m.
