How It Happened
Lebanon Valley got off to a hot start and never looked back in the team's dominant 14-3 victory over Calvin at Arnold Field on Saturday afternoon, March 24.

The offense matched its season-high goal total and was led by two-score outings from Koty Keefer, Alex Bushong, and Evan Crawford, while Max Warmingham finished as LVC's high-point man thanks to a marker and three assists. The defense allowed just eight shots on goal and caused 15 turnovers. Blake Weaver, Matt Torrence, and goalkeeper Cam Epple recorded two caused turnovers apiece.

Keefer got the Flying Dutchmen (5-3) on the board less than four minutes in with his first goal of the game and Evan Crawford doubled the advantage with his first score of the contest less than a minute later. Keefer found twine again at the 9:27 mark and Michael Fisher converted his attempt off a Warmingham helper 44 seconds later to make it 4-0. Alex Bushong's first marker capped the opening quarter's scoring at the 4:54 mark.

Nearly 12 scoreless minutes ensued before Warmingham ended the drought with a goal with 6:34 left in the second quarter and Crawford pushed the lead to 7-0 off a find from Bushong with 5:23 remaining in the first half. Josh Croyle put his attempt past Calvin goalkeeper Mitchell Wong off a Warmingham feed at the 3:27 mark and Evan Federowicz netted LVC's ninth goal of the half with 2:20 left before the break.

The Knights (2-6) finally got on the board late in the second quarter but the Dutchmen opened the second half with back-to-back goals from Bushong off a Croyle assist and Trevor Holak off Warmingham's third helper of the game.

Calvin added their second goal when Michael Winkler converted a shot with 3:06 left in the third quarter but LVC again responded with two consecutive scores to begin the next period. Mason Hoff put his attempt into the back of the net following a feed from Keefer at the 12:57 mark and Kevin Beaver took advantage of a Calvin penalty by recording a man-up goal off an assist from Matt Torrence less than two minutes later.

Winkler netted his second marker of the game for the Knights with 8:15 left to play but it was far too little too late. Adam Filbert closed out the contest's scoring with his second goal of the spring with 5:58 remaining.
