How It Happened
In a matchup of reigning conference champions and 2018 NCAA Tournament teams, Lebanon Valley pulled away from Cabrini in an 83-67 victory on the opening night of Juniata's Doc Greene Tournament in Huntingdon, Pa. on Friday, Dec. 7.

Four players reached the double-digit scoring mark for the Flying Dutchmen (3-6). Jeremy Deihm netted a game-high 18 points, while Justin Baker just missed out on a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Abdo racked up 14 points and eight boards and Trevor Covey added 12 points off the bench.

Clinging to a slim lead at 55-52 with 13:06 left to play, LVC put together a game-changing 20-3 run over the ensuing 6:10 that saw Justin Baker rack up nine points, including an old-fashioned 3-point play off a Zach Tucker assist, and back-to-back layups by Deihm off feeds from Chris Anderson and AJ Catanzaro.

From there, Lebanon Valley's defense held the Cavaliers (2-6) at bay in the closing minutes. Deihm and Abdo combined to knock down three free throws in crunch time before Abdo put the game on ice with a jumper from beyond the arc with 20 seconds remaining.

A hotly-contested first half saw LVC jump out to a 5-0 advantage thanks to a trey from Baker and an Anderson layup before the Cavaliers responded with a with an 8-2 run that put them out in front for the first time following a DJ Smith 3-pointer at the 16:48 mark.

The Dutchmen grabbed their largest advantage of the half at 23-16 when Jaylen Reichner converted a layup with 10:49 left before the break but Cabrini netted the next seven points to draw even at the 6:40 mark. Things remained close the rest of the way, resulting in a 39-39 stalemate come halftime.
