How It Happened
HUNTINGDON, Pa.
– Lebanon Valley succumbed to Juniata's big second half and dropped a 90-71 decision in the championship game of the Eagles' annual Doc Greene Tournament on Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's basketball action. The Dutchmen slipped to 3-7, while Juniata now sits at 4-5.

Up by just two at 40-38 heading into the second half, LVC allowed Juniata to begin the second half on a 20-8 run that spanned just under six and a half minutes of action, as the Eagles went up by 10 at 58-48 with 13:35 left in the game. Chris Anderson responded with a layup at 12:18 to bring the Dutchmen to within eight at 58-50, however a 16-9 spurt from Juniata, capped by a 3-pointer by Cameron Keck, sunk LVC and put the Eagles on top by 17 at 76-59 with just 6:27 left in the contest.

Later in the second, with 2:36 to go, Jaylen Reichner knocked down a triple to cut Juniata's advantage to just 12 at 80-68, but the Dutchmen were unable to get any closer, as the Eagles' Jake Holsopple hit back-to-back shots from the charity stripe, followed by Paul Martello's good 3-pointer to extend the Eagles' lead back to 17 and Juniata then held on for the 90-71 victory.

It was a close game early on with the Eagles up 11-9 before Mason Green connected on a shot from beyond the arc to give LVC a 12-11 advantage with 13:12 left in the first half. Juniata then posted a 14-7 run to go up 25-19 with 8:31 left, but the Dutchmen quickly erased the deficit, beginning with Jordan Abdo's jumper, followed by back-to-back triples from Green and AJ Catanzaro. Then, Chris Anderson knocked down the game's third-consecutive 3-pointer for the Dutchmen, putting the visitors on top by five at 30-25 with 6:37 remaining in the first.

Later, with 4:14 to go and LVC up 33-27, Abdo hit a trey to increase the Dutchmen's lead to nine at 36-27. The Eagles, however, fought back again and evened the game at 38-38 with 2:14 left thanks to an 11-2 run. With 1:52 to go, Abdo was able to hit a jumper in the paint to give LVC a slight 40-38 lead heading into halftime.
