How it Happened
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Lebanon Valley's women's basketball squad was downed by Elizabethtown 67-52 on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 11. The Dutchmen fell to 0-2, while the Blue Jays jumped to 2-0.
E-Town jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead with 7:41 remaining in the first quarter. LVC stayed with the Blue Jays for much of the first, but towards the end of the quarter, the Blue Jays opened up a 10-point advantage at 19-9.
Jen Eck stopped the bleeding with a good layup with 1:22 left, followed by
Caroline Scarff's free throw with 40 seconds to go to make it a 19-12 score. E-Town's Lydia Lawson connected on a fast-break layup with three seconds to go, however, to put the Blue Jays ahead 21-12 after one quarter of action.
After E-Town was able to maintain its double-digit advantage throughout the majority of the second quarter, the Dutchmen found themselves down 36-21 heading into halftime. In the third quarter, with 3:37 remaining,
Emily Mealey made a layup to cut the Blue Jays' lead down to single digits at 44-35. Then, with E-Town up 47-37 with 56 seconds left in the third, the Dutchmen went on a quick 5-0 spurt and trailed by just five at 47-42 going into fourth-quarter action.
LVC picked up where it left off in the end of the third at the start of the fourth with Mealey's good layup at 9:13 to cut the Blue Jays' advantage to three at 47-44. From there, however, E-Town went on a crucial 13-3 run that spanned over four minutes of action to take a 60-47 lead, and the Dutchmen were unable to get out of the hole and E-Town held on for a 67-52 win.

Anne Lehr ended with a team-high 14 points and eight rebounds. She added three assists and a block.
- Scarff and Eck scored 10 points apiece and Eck added six boards.
- Mealey finished with nine points and three assists.
- E-Town's Veronica Christ had a game-high 16 points.
- The Blue Jays led in field goal percentage at 42.1 to 31.1-percent.
- LVC led in second-chance points at 13-6.
- The Dutchmen also held the advantage in bench points at 13-9.
- Points in the paint were even at 28-28.
Who's Next
LVC hosts Frostburg State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Dutchmen's 2018-19 home opener.
