How It Happened
READING, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dropped a hard-fought 2-1 game to Alvernia on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth Field Hockey action. The Dutchmen slipped to 6-6, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth and the Golden Wolves jumped to 6-6, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth.

Just 2:54 into the first half, Alvernia lit the lamp when Madison Potthoff scored her first of the season when Morgan Mondschein's pass across was flicked in by Potthoff. Later, in the 21st minute, Cecile Kat evened the score with her conference-leading 17th marker of the season.

Just under seven minutes later, in the 28th minute, the Golden Wolves' Taylor Dorrin found the back of the net to give Alvernia a narrow 2-1 advantage. For the remainder of the half, the home team's defense didn't allow another scoring chance, but LVC was still within striking distance after one half of action and were only down by one.

In the second half, the Dutchmen couldn't get anything going to gain any momentum, as the Golden Wolves' defense didn't allow a shot for the half's entirety, resulting in the narrow 2-1 loss for the Dutchmen.
