How It Happened
Lebanon Valley hung tough with Kean for a half before falling 3-0 in non-conference action at Arnold Field on Wednesday night, Oct. 10.
The offense for the Flying Dutchmen (6-7) was the more aggressive unit in the opening minutes, getting off eight total shots in the first half, compared to just three for the Cougars (5-9). Unfortunately for LVC, the team was unable to punch home the go-ahead goal when the chances presented themselves.
The visitors broke the scoreless tie midway through the first half when Jenna Patrone maneuvered around a defender and fired a left-handed shot into the back of the cage in the 23rd minute, giving Kean a slim advantage heading into the break.
The Cougar attack was strong to begin the second half, scoring a pair of markers in an 11-minute span. Kayla Molnar doubled the advantage when she deflected a pass from Patrone past LVC goalkeeper
Tori ByDeLey following a penalty corner insertion in the 39th minute.
Another KU penalty corner led to the team's third goal of the night when Erin Donnelly dropped a pass into the circle for Rachel Mills who finished off the play with a tally with 23:04 remaining.
