How It Happened
Lebanon Valley reeled off three consecutive goals to erase a second-half deficit and defeat MAC Commonwealth rival Albright 4-3 in front of a Homecoming crowd under the lights at Arnold Field on Saturday night, Oct. 13.

The game was a back-and-forth affair in the early going, with the Lions (6-8, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) striking first when Kaley Donmoyer finished off a Bailey Lehman pass in the eighth minute. Less than five minutes later, it was Taylor Pentz knotting things up with a deflection into the back of the cage off a pass into the circle from Danielle Alba at the 21:20 mark.

Albright rallied off the next two scores, with one coming in the 16th minute and the other coming in the 31st minute. Needing a spark before halftime, Alba came up huge for the Flying Dutchmen (7-7, 2-2 MAC Commonwealth) when she converted a penalty stroke with 16 seconds left to cut the deficit to 3-2 at the break.

Despite more aggressive play by LVC to begin the second half, things held steady until the 57th minute when Pentz connected with Isabella Vulopas on a long pass into the circle that Vulopas was able to roll past Albright goalkeeper Brynne Schoppe to tie things up.

Then, as she has for much of the season, Cecile Kat came up clutch when she gathered in a Pentz pass, whirled around to her left and blasted an attempt into the back of the cage to put the Dutchmen out in front for the first time with 6:17 remaining.

LVC's defense held strong down the stretch and the offense continued to push the pace into the Lions' half of the field, keeping the visitors from getting off a good look in the closing moments.

Highlight of the Night

In the game's 63rd minute, LVC leading-scorer Cecile Kat added to her season output when she gathered a pass from Taylor Pentz, spun around and got off a wicked left-handed attempt that fired past Albright goalkeeper Brynee Schoppe and gave the Dutchmen a lead they would not relinquish, sealing a thrilling comeback victory on Homecoming weekend.
