How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – In the 2018 Dutchmen Outdoor Classic, Lebanon Valley's women's ice hockey team suffered a 9-0 setback at the hands of No. 3 Elmira. The Dutchmen dropped to 2-12-2, 1-7-1 UCHC, while the Soaring Eagles improved to 15-2-1, 9-0-0 UCHC.

The contest was close early on and LVC was hanging with America's third-ranked squad, but at 15:16, Meghan Fonfara netted a goal from Rachel Grampp to make it 10. Less than two minutes later, Emma Crocker made it 2-0 for Elmira, and despite some pressure by the Dutchmen, the Soaring Eagles went into the first intermission with a 2-0 advantage.

Midway through the second period, Elmira netted a short-handed goal and went on to add three more scores, including a pair of goals 17 seconds apart, to break the game wide open and take a 6-0 lead into the third period.

Jill Moffatt was outstanding between the pipes and kept the game close, but three more goals for Elmira in the third put the game out of reach and the Soaring Eagles went on to win 9-0.

Inside the Numbers
 - Moffatt finished with 78 saves, including 35 in the first period. In addition to making 78 saves, Moffatt also designed tonight's one-of-a-kind sweaters, as well as the 2018 Dutchmen Outdoor Classic logo.
 - Chloe Glass recorded two shots on net, while Taylor Borrelli, Nikki Lloyd, and Emma Stillwaggon each registered a shot.
 - For Elmira, Crocker and Maddy Jerolman netted two goals apiece, while Sarah Hughson notched three helpers.
