How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Brockport scored three goals in the final period to edge Lebanon Valley 5-3 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's ice hockey action at the GIANT Center, home of the Hershey Bears. The Dutchmen fell to 5-7-1, while the Golden Eagles improved to 8-6-1.
Heading into the third period, the score was tied at 2-2 until a PP goal at 6:07 by Brockport's Hunter Laso gave Golden Eagles a 3-2 advantage. LVC responded six minutes later when
Brett Johnson scored a PP-goal from
Zach Balodis to even the score at 3-3 with just over eight minutes remaining in the third.
Just over two minutes later, Brockport scored what proved to be the game-winner when Ethan Solat netted a goal. The Dutchmen saw some chances throughout the final five minutes of action, but Aidan Verbeke netted an empty-netter with a minute remaining and went on to win 5-3.
The Dutchmen tallied the game's first score when
Zach McKown scored a pretty goal from
Jared Karas and
Bryan Hovanec 2:11 into the second, but the Golden Eagles tied the game up at 1-1 at 10:17 when Connar Bass found the back of the net. Just 22 seconds later, the Dutchmen retook the lead when Hovanec scored a goal on the man-advantage from Johnson and Balodis, however Brockport scored five minutes later to again tie the game, this time at 2-2.
Inside the Numbers
 - Hovanec and Johnson finished with a goal and an assist each, while both players had four shots on goal.
 - Balodis added two helpers for LVC.

Tyler Perhac, who made several highlight-reel saves, finished with 23 saves.

Cole Hepler went 11-for-17 from inside the faceoff circle.
 - The Dutchmen held a 32-20 advantage in faceoff wins.

LVC hops back into UCHC and MAC action on Friday when the Dutchmen host Stevenson at 7 p.m. inside Hersheypark Arena.
