How It Happened
Lebanon Valley and Widener needed extra time to settle a defensive struggle at Arnold Field on Saturday night, Sept. 23. Despite a couple of high-quality scoring chances, the Flying Dutchmen were unable to convert and eventually fell 1-0 in the extra session.

LVC (3-6, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) and the Pride (5-2, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) battled back and forth in the first half, with the Dutchmen getting off six shots but only one on goal, and the visitors managing seven attempts. All four Widener shots on target were turned away by Lebanon Valley goalkeeper Tori ByDeLey.

In the second half, the Dutchmen managed just two shot attempts, with Hannah Simon's attempt that was stopped by Widener goalkeeper Sabrina Roberto following a penalty corner in the 64th minute serving as the team's best chance at a score.

With more space available during the 7-on-7 session in overtime, Widener used its team speed to full advantage, earning a pair of corners and eventually punching in the game-winner when Kelsi Walker finished off a feed from Sam Scoma in the game's 75th minute.

Inside the Numbers
- Widener outshot the Dutchmen 15-8 overall and 10-3 in shots on goal.
- The Pride earned 13 corners, compared to just four by Lebanon Valley.
- The Dutchmen were assessed all four cards on the night.
- Cecile Kat, Isabella Vulopas, and Kaylea Garman led the way with two shots apiece for LVC.
- Garman, Maddie Fox, and Hannah Simon each managed one shot on goal.
- Tori ByDeLey made nine saves in net for Lebanon Valley, while Sabrina Roberto needed to make just three saves in earning the win in goal.
