How It Happened
LA PLUME, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's soccer team recorded its third-consecutive victory via shutout with a 4-0 rout of Keystone College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play. The Dutchmen's record now sits at 5-1-1, while LVC snapped the Giants' five-game win streak, and they now sit at 5-3.
The Dutchmen barely wasted any time lighting up the scoreboard this afternoon. Just 6:15 into the contest,
Riley Katshir ripped a highlight-reel, overhead kick just inside the post following
Tyler Skye's corner kick to give LVC a very early 1-0 advantage. That score would stick until the second half when the Dutchmen blew the game open.
In the 47th minute, Skye stole the ball from the defender in Keystone's zone and curled a 10-yard shot into the back of the net, increasing LVC's lead to 2-0. Then, in the 84th minute,
Cam Avery's long punt found the feet of
Noah Resuta who passed the ball to Skye and the senior's shot went into the back of the net for the 3-0 advantage.
Just under two minutes later,
Tanner Therit iced the game for the Dutchmen when he tapped in a ball to the back post after Skye's cross. For the third straight game, LVC held its opponent scoreless and the Dutchmen went on to win easily.
