How It Happened
Lebanon Valley fell by the slimmest of margins in a 2-1 loss to Misericordia at MU's Mangelsdorf Field on Wednesday night, Sept. 20.

The Cougars (1-6) got off six shots on goal in the game's opening 20 minutes but LVC goalkeeper Tori ByDeLey turned them all away. The home team finally broke through in the 29th minute when Colby Eldridge found the back of the cage to give her team a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

The Flying Dutchmen (3-5) turned up the aggressiveness to begin the second half, firing off nine shots before converting the equalizer when Maddie Fox put her attempt past MU goalkeeper Katelyn Campbell with 15 minutes remaining. Jenna Lysakowski assisted on the score off a penalty corner.

The Cougars responded, however, and Eldridge netted her second marker of the night in the 59th minute, reclaiming the lead for Misericordia.

LVC's best opportunity to draw even came with less than five minutes remaining. The Dutchmen were awarded a penalty corner and Lysakowski's insertion ended up on the stick of Casey Dombroski but her shot was stopped by Campbell.
