How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Two second-half goals by Muhlenberg in the span of just four minutes led to the Mules' 2-1 victory over Lebanon Valley in the Dutchmen's 2017 opener on Friday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action. Muhlenberg improved to 1-0, while the Dutchmen slipped to 0-1.

In the 60th minute of action with LVC ahead 1-0, the Mules evened the score when Zach Cimring netted a one-touch goal from the box off an assist from Kevin Hagan. Then, just four minutes later, Muhlenberg drew a foul in the box and was awarded a penalty kick which Kevin Irving scored on, giving the Mules a 2-1 advantage.

In the later stages of the game, the Dutchmen pressed hard and earned several scoring chances, but were unable to find the back of the net in the second half.

In the first half (27th minute), LVC scored its first goal of the season when Kurtis Rineer's shot was blocked, but the ball came right to Kyle Guissanie in the middle of the box and he buried to give the Dutchmen the early lead.

Turning Point
A foul was called inside the box against LVC, leading to a PK for the Mules, which they connected on for the lead and eventually win.
