How It Happened
Lebanon Valley twice cut a late-game deficit to one goal but couldn't fight all the way back in the team's 11-7 loss to Albright at Arnold Field on Saturday afternoon, April 8.

The Flying Dutchmen (6-6, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) were on the verge of drawing even with the visitors following Brett Kudlak's top-shelf score off an assist from Max Warmingham that cut the Albright lead to 8-7 with 5:25 left to play.

The Lions (5-5, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth) got the break they needed, however, when goalkeeper Cameron Epple lost the ball attempting to make a pass to begin the LVC clear before Albright's Cam Cetrone gathered the loose ball and Jack Bobel for an open-net score with 2:33 remaining.

James Lettieri won the ensuing faceoff for the visitors before some strange maneuvering led to another empty-net goal for the Lions, this time by Nick Tonno off a pass from Andrew Potter that made it 10-7 with 2:05 left. The next faceoff went to Lettieri and he needed just eight second and one pass to Cetrone to help give Albright the breathing room it needed to hold on for the win.

LVC trailed 5-3 just before halftime but the dangerous duo of Klayton Garman and Kudlak hooked up for buzzer-beating goal with no time left on the clock as the second quarter came to an end. Kudlak made a pass in traffic that Garman finished off with a snipe from the right side.

Albright netted a pair of goals in the third quarter but Kudlak was again part of a marker that gave the Dutchmen some momentum heading into the fourth quarter when he gathered a look from Austin Farwell and put his attempt past goalkeeper Ryan Aler with 29 ticks left in the period.

Garman made the visitors pay for a body-check penalty when he cut the Lion lead to 7-6 with a man-up goal off an assist from Warmingham at the 11:19 mark of the fourth quarter. Cetrone converted the game's next goal with 7:30 remaining before Kudlak kept his team within striking distance thanks to his second goal but the equalizer LVC needed never materialized.

Garman scored Lebanon Valley's first marker of the day, a beautiful behind-the-back conversion, off an assist from Kudlak and Mason Hoff put the Dutchmen in front for the first time with a goal off a Garman feed with 3:58 left in the first quarter.

Austin Minnich made a pretty run towards the net before beating Aler to put the home team back out in front 3-2 with 47 seconds left to play in the opening period.

Crosse Out Cancer
Saturday served as LVC's fifth annual Crosse Out Cancer Game. The Dutchmen wore special purple jerseys, designed by senior captain Baker Landon, for one game only. The uniforms were auctioned off with proceeds from the auction, along with donations taken at Arnold Field, going to the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. Prior to the contest, Lebanon Valley honored the family of former standout men's lacrosse player Pat Cullinan '79, who lost his battle with cancer in October of 2015. Landon joined fellow captains Austin Minnich, Coleman Wagner, and head coach John Haus in presenting Cullinan's family members with a special Crosse Out Cancer jersey. Players also wore Cullinan's number 13 on their uniforms during the game.

Who's Next?
The Dutchmen travel to Lycoming on Thursday afternoon looking to pick up their first MAC Commonwealth victory.
