How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley came from behind to defeat Stevenson 11-5 in MAC Commonwealth baseball action on Thursday afternoon. The Dutchmen won their fourth straight and improved to 15-11, 6-6 MAC Commonwealth, while the Mustangs fell to 13-17, 5-8 MAC Commonwealth.
With Stevenson ahead 5-4 heading into the bottom of the seventh,
Michael Puglisi drew a walk to begin the inning. Next, Marshall Kiessling continued his impressive season by doubling down the left field line to score Puglisi and tie the game at 5-5. From there,
Chris DeClerico singled to left to plate Kiessling and put the Dutchmen up 6-5. That proved to be the game-winning hit, but LVC wasn't done.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Dutchmen batted around and struck for five more runs, inevitably putting the game out of reach. Kiessling recorded another RBI when he flew out to left field with the bases load to score
Zac Edwards, and later,
Michael Leri walked with the bases juiced to increase LVC's advantage to 8-5. Next up was
Joshua Marcelli, and he cleared the bases with a clutch three-RBI double to make it an 11-5 game.
Dylan Stephen, who pitched the final four innings, hit a batter in the top of the ninth but came away unscathed and LVC hung on easily for the 11-5 triumph.

- Edwards went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Philip Berry was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Puglisi and Albright scored two runs each.

Casey Wall got the start on the mind and after a shaky first inning, the senior settled down and went five innings and allowed five earned with two strikeouts.
- Stephen (3-0) allowed just a pair of hits in his four innings of relief to earn the victory.
- The win today is LVC's fourth-straight.
- The Dutchmen have scored 55 runs in their last four games.
- The Dutchmen are holding strong in the fourth and final MAC Commonwealth playoff spot and distanced themselves from Stevenson today and now hold a two-game lead for the fourth-place spot.
