How It Happened
ALTOONA, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dismantled Penn State Altoona on Tuesday afternoon, shutting out the Lions 22-0 in non-conference action. The Dutchmen won their third straight and improved to 14-11, while PSU Altoona dropped to 12-15.

LVC jumped out to a quick advantage thanks to a six-run top of the first. Michael Puglisi doubled down the left field line to score Bryan Towers, then Joshua Marcelli singled home Marshall Kiessling and Puglisi. Later in the frame, Jonathan Harned reached on a fielder's choice and Trevor Bertsch then doubled home Harned and Marcelli for the 6-0 lead.

The Dutchmen continued to pour it on in the second and scored five more runs to go up 11-0 after just two innings of play. Nick O'Shea singled home Towers, followed by Chase Weik's two-run single through the left side. After Bertsch drew a bases-loaded walk, Zac Edwards singled home Weik.

In the fourth inning, LVC put the game out of reach for good when Kiessling launched a grand slam to right field to increase the Dutchmen's lead to 15-0. Aaron Smith, who was getting the first start of his career, held the Lions at bay through five innings to pick up his first-career victory on the mound.

Inside the Numbers
 - Towers, O'Shea and Marcelli recorded three hits apiece.
 - Kiessling and Marcelli each registered four RBI.
 - Bertsch and Timothy Holdredge notched two hits each.
 - LVC's offense pounded out 24 hits on the day compared to the Lions' four.
 - Smith went five innings and allowed two hits while striking out a batter. Joseph Bassett was solid in his two innings of relief and allowed just a hit. Logan Stover threw the final two innings and surrendered one hit while fanning four hitters.

Who's Next?
LVC heads back into MAC Commonwealth action on Thursday when the Dutchmen host Stevenson at 3:30 p.m.
