How It Happened
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Lebanon Valley fell to Drew University 14-9 and 4-2 on Sunday afternoon in the Dutchmen's first two contest during their spring break trip. The Rangers jumped to 5-1, while LVC slipped to 1-2.

In the opening contest, Drew, who competes in the Landmark Conference, scored five runs in the top of the first and added two more in the top of the second to take an early 7-0 advantage. The Dutchmen got one back with one swing of the bat, however, when Josh Marcelli sent a 2-0 fastball over the fence for his first home run of the season.

Drew struck right back with a tally in the third and another in the fourth to make it 9-1, but LVC didn't go quietly, scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth, which was started by Christopher DeClerico's RBI-singled that plated Chase Weik. Next, Marshall Kiessling singled home Josh Herring and Zach Edwards, then Colin Albright was hit by a pitch with the bases juiced to score DeClerico, cutting the Rangers' lead to just four at 9-5.

Later, in the top of the seventh with Drew ahead 10-6, the Rangers plated four more runs to put themselves back up by eight at 14-6. In the bottom of the seventh, DeClerico cut into that lead when he crushed a 3-run homer to left, however the Dutchmen were unable to complete the comeback and fell 14-6.

How It Happened
The second game was a lower-scoring affair, as the Dutchmen jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Puglisi singed down the left field line to score DeClerico. The Rangers, however, evened the score in the bottom of the frame with an RBI-single to center by Zach Lipshitz. LVC went back up by one at 2-1 when Herring singled to center to score Michael Leri in the top of the second, but in the bottom of the third, Drew tied it up once again on an RBI-single up the middle.

The game remained tied and Casey Wall was keeping the Rangers' offense in check, but in the bottom of the fifth, Lipshitz tripled to left center to score Grossane, which proved to be the game-winning hit. The Dutchmen were held scoreless in the final five innings as the Rangers went on to win 4-2.

Inside the Numbers (Game Two)
