How It Happened
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Lebanon Valley earned a split with Arcadia on Sunday afternoon in a doubleheader that was played at La Salle University, due to wet field conditions at Arcadia. The Knights edged out the Dutchmen 6-5 in the opener before LVC pounded out 16 hits and won 10-5 in the nightcap. The Dutchmen now sit at 9-6, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth, while the Knights are now 13-4, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth.
In the first game, LVC opened up a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, beginning with an RBI-single to center field from
Joshua Marcelli. After
Chase Weik was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 2-0,
Nick O'Shea drew a walk to plate Marshall Kiessling. Arcadia got one back in the bottom of the second and then tied things up in the bottom of the third after plating a pair of runs to make it 3-3.
In the top of the fifth, a Weik RBI-groundout put the Dutchmen back ahead at 4-3, then O'Shea continued his torrid weekend by doubling down the right field line to score Kiessling for the 5-3 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, the Knights tied the game again by scoring twice and after they held LVC scoreless in the top of the sixth, Draude singled down the right field line in the bottom of the sixth to score Coisson, which proved to be the game-winning run.
Inside the Numbers (Game One)
- Kiessling and Marcelli finished with two hits apiece, while Weik and O'Shea each drove in two.
- LVC outhit Arcadia 9-7.

Michael Houseal (0-2) pitched all six innings but was charged with the loss. He gave up just two earned runs while striking out four.

How It Happened
In the nightcap, LVC used a huge fifth inning to defeat Arcadia, 10-5. With the Knights up 3-2 heading into the top of the fifth, the Dutchmen sent 12 batters to the plate and score eight times. Kiessling singled and doubled in the inning, while DeClerico reached base twice in the frame along with
Zac Edwards. That was more that starting pitcher
Dylan Stephen needed, as he recorded his second win of the weekend for the Dutchmen.
Inside the Numbers (Game Two)
- Edwards, Kiessling, and
Joshua Herring registered three hits each, while Edwards added three RBI for LVC.
- DeClerico and Herring scored two runs apiece.
- Stephen (2-0) tossed 4.1 innings and allowed four earned. Jake Williams relieved the freshman for the final 2.2 innings and gave up just two hits and no runs while striking out two.
