How It Happened
Lebanon Valley's defense was on display in the first half before the offense took over after the break in the team's 9-6 victory at Marymount (Va.) on Saturday afternoon, March 11.

Clinging to a slim 6-5 victory with less than seven minutes remaining, the Flying Dutchmen (3-1) netted three of the game's final four goals to put it out of reach. Matt Torrence scored his second marker of the day off an assist from Max Warmingham with 6:29 left and Alex Bushong completed the hat trick following a Klayton Garman find to make it 8-5 at the 5:08 mark.

The Saints (2-5) cut the deficit to two when Dylan Watkins found the back of the net with 2:45 remaining but the LVC defense clamped down and kept the home team from drawing any closer before Austin Minnich sealed the victory with an unassisted snipe with 18 seconds left to play.

The Dutchmen led 2-1 at halftime and added to the advantage when Bushong netted his first score of the contest early in the third quarter but Marymount reeled off three goals in a row to take its first lead since the opening moments of the game.

Matt Torrence converted the equalizer with 3:40 left in the third quarter before Bushong put the visitors back on top 5-4 less than two minutes later. Warmingham connected with Klayton Garman who put his shot into the net early in the fourth quarter, giving LVC a two-goal advantage with 11:40 remaining.

The game was a defensive struggle in the early going, with neither squad able to score in the opening quarter. Marymount's Dylan Watkins broke the scoreless tie 4:05 into the second before Brett Kudlak netted the equalizer off a Garman assist 45 seconds later. Kevin Beaver added an unassisted marker at the 1:20 mark to give Lebanon Valley a one-goal lead heading into the break.
