How It Happened
Lebanon Valley suffered a 102-83 setback to undefeated Hamilton on day one of Moravian's Greyhound Classic in Bethlehem, Pa. on Saturday night, Dec. 30.
Three LVC players in
Andy Orr,
Sam Light, and
Zach Tucker combined for 58 of the team's points, while the Continentals used a balanced attack to facilitate their offense, with five players reaching the double-digit scoring mark.
The Flying Dutchmen (8-4) held a slim lead during the early portion of the first half, with Orr netting 12 points in the first 7:45, before Hamilton (9-0) pulled ahead at the 12-minute mark and maintained the advantage the rest of the way.
The Continentals struggled to create much breathing room and a pair of Light free throws with 3:51 left in the first half cut the deficit to three. From there, however, Hamilton put together a game-changing 9-1 run to end the half and take a 51-40 advantage into the break.
A Light jumper early in the second half cut the deficit to single digits for the last time, as the Continentals stretched their lead to 16 on a number of occasions before pushing the advantage to 20 for the first time with six minutes left to play.
