How It Happened
RYE, N.Y. –
Jill Moffatt stopped 68 shots, but Lebanon Valley dropped a 7-1 game to Manhattanville on Saturday night in UCHC action. The Dutchmen dropped to 2-3-2, 1-1-1 UCHC 1-1-1 MAC, while the Valiants jumped to 3-3, 1-2 UCHC, 1-0 MAC.
LVC netted the game's first goal when
Nikki Lloyd found the back of the net at 14:06 of the first from
Emma Stillwaggon and
Taylor Borrelli, and the Dutchmen went into the first intermission with a narrow 1-0 victory.
Manhattanville answered in the second period with three goals, including a pair from Sarah Sinning, to take a 3-1 victory in the third period despite Moffatt making an incredible 44 saves in the second period, including several highlight-reel stops.
The Valiants added four more scores in the third period, and LVC's offense was unable to find the back of the net again, en route to the 7-1 defeat.
Inside the Numbers
 - Moffatt finished with a season-high 68 saves in 47:48 minutes of action.
Victoria Lahey played the final 12:22 for the Dutchmen and made 14 stops.
 - Manhattanville's Rose Pijaca made six saves to earn the victory.
 - Sinning finished with a hat trick while recording eight shots on goal.
 - Lloyd scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season for LVC.
 - The Valiants held a 50-14 edge in faceoff wins.
