How It Happened
ASTON, Pa. – With Lebanon Valley's men's ice hockey team down by a goal with four seconds remaining in regulation, Bryan Hovanec scored to even the game at 3-3 and send it into overtime where neither the Dutchmen or Neumann could score, resulting in a tie on Saturday afternoon in UCHC action. LVC moved to 0-1-1, 0-1-1 UCHC, while the Knights now sit at 1-2-1, 1-0-1 UCHC.

With a minute and a half remaining in the third, Neumann's Joe Mitchell was whistled for tripping and the Dutchmen were a man-up for the remainder of the period. With 52 ticks left on the clock, LVC elected to pull Joel Eisenhower to create a 6-on-4 opportunity, and it paid off when Hovanec scored to knot the game at 3-3 with just four seconds to go off assists from Cole Hepler and Brett Johnson.

In OT, the Knights held the edge with more offensive opportunities, but Eisenhower was there each time and registered an impressive six saves in overtime. The Dutchmen were able to record just one shot on goal, but earned an important point in conference action.

Neumann jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, as Ryan Swain scored 51 seconds into the game and at 2:56, Jake Davidson netted a goal for the Knights. At 11:50, LVC got one back when Kevin Van Bokkelen netted his second goal in as many times, this time on the power play, from Nick Skerlick and TJ Sneath, but the Knights held a 2-1 lead after one period of action.

In the second, there were minimal scoring chances, but Neumann took advantage of a late power play and Swain netted his second of the game, making it a 3-1 Knights' edge heading into the third period. 1:57 into the third, sophomore Zach Yingst found the back of the net for his first goal of the season from Brett Johnson and Cole Hepler, bringing the Dutchmen to within one at 3-2.
