How It Happened
FREDONIA, N.Y. – Three first-period goals powered Fredonia past Lebanon Valley by a 5-3 score on Friday night in non-conference men's ice hockey action. The Dutchmen fell to 0-2-1, while the Blue Devils jumped to 2-2-0.

Fredonia got the scoring started 7:47 into the first when Bobby Polachek netted a goal. Less than a minute later, Victory Tracy made it a 2-0 contest, and 13 seconds later, Josh Biasillo gave the Blue Devils a 3-0 lead, which held up after one period of action.

The Dutchmen got on the board twice in the second period thanks to a pair of short-handed goals. Russ Armbruster netted the first tally 2:26 into the second from Bryan Hovanec, and 55 seconds later, Cole Hepler scored another goal with LVC down a man off an assist from Zak Sheikh, to cut Fredonia's lead to just one at 3-2. The Blue Devils got one back at 14:52 and went into the second intermission with a 4-2 lead.

2:26 into the third, TJ Sneath brought the Dutchmen back to within a goal from Brett Johnson and Cody Pessig, but with 52 seconds remaining in the third, Fredonia's Ryan Dunn put the game out of reach with an empty-net goal and the Blue Devils went on to win by a 5-3 margin.
