How It Happened
Lebanon Valley fell behind, regrouped, and made a late run but ultimately it was not enough as the team fell 69-63 to Moravian at Sorrentino Gymnasium in the 2017 Rinso Marquette Tournament Championship Game on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19.

Becky Evans netted the game's first points when she converted a pair of free throws one minute into the contest.

And then the Greyhounds (2-1) scored the next 24 points. Moravian went on a tear that included four 3-pointers in the first quarter, including a pair of contested shots. LVC (2-1) on the other hand, struggled mightily from the field in the first 10 minutes and was unable to convert a field goal until Emily Mealey's bucket at the 7:39 mark of the second quarter.

The Dutchmen made adjustments in the second and put up 23 points in the stanza, cutting the deficit to 40-25 at halftime. Lebanon Valley was led by six points apiece from Caroline Scarff and Veronica Venezia during the second 10 minutes.

After Morgan Bamberger drilled a 3-ball to open the second half, the Dutchmen drew to within single digits for the first time since the opening moments when a Scarff layup off an assist from Lehr cut it to 45-36 midway through the third quarter.

Moravian halted that momentum by scoring the game's next seven points and the Greyhounds took a 14-point advantage into the final period.

Lebanon Valley trailed by 20 with eight minutes left and by 12 with 1:21 remaining but an Evans triple in the final minute cut the deficit to single digits. Lehr connected from distance with 13 seconds left and hit a buzzer-beating jumper but ultimately, the Dutchmen ran out of time.
