How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. –
Rob Hanosek's second-half score proved to be the difference for Lebanon Valley's men soccer team, as they defeated McDaniel by a 1-0 score in the ECAC Championship Tournament Quarterfinal on Sunday afternoon. The Dutchmen improved to 13-5-1, while the Green Terror ended their season at 10-7-2.
In the 58th minute,
Adam Eidemiller made a run down the left side of the field and was able to cross the ball into the box, where Hanosek was waiting. Hanosek headed the ball past McDaniel's Nick Over and into the back of the net for the game's lone score. Check out the video below to view Hanosek's goal.
The Dutchmen opened the game by providing a large amount of pressure to the Green Terror.
Tyler Skye had a good chance to score just two minutes in, but his shot went just wide of the net. Then, Hanosek had a chance on a header, but McDaniel's Over was there for the save to keep the match scoreless.
LVC's defense was stout all day and didn't allow
Cam Avery to have to face any shots on goal. Every chance that the Green Terror had was nixed by
Nate Gibbons,
Isaiah Reid,
David Brooks, and several other defenders.
Inside the Numbers
