How It Happened
CHESTER, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's soccer team was blanked by Widener 2-0 in the Dutchmen's final regular-season match of 2017 on Saturday afternoon. LVC ended the regular season at 8-5-3, 4-4 MAC Commonwealth while the Pride improved to 12-5, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth.
Just 2:29 into the game, Widener's Lexi Slusher collected the ball in the box and was able to get a low shot off that went past
Emma Strickler and into the back of the net to give the Pride an early 1-0 advantage. For the remainder of the half, neither team was able to score and LVC remained within striking distance at halftime, down just 1-0.
Seven minutes into the second half, Widener extended its lead to 2-0 when the Dutchmen let in an own goal off of a corner kick.
Rileigh Jo Evitts saw a few good chances down the stretch, but LVC was unable to complete the comeback and fell 2-0.

MAC Commonwealth Tournament Set
The Dutchmen are the No. 5 seed in next week's MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament and will travel to No. 4 Albright in the Play-In Game on Tuesday at a time that is yet to be determined. In the semifinal round on Thursday, the winner of the play-in game will travel to battle No. 1 Messiah, while No. 3 Widener is set to play at No. 2 Arcadia at 7 p.m.
