How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley and Post University played to a 1-1 draw in the Dutchmen's 2017-18 season opener on Friday night inside Hersheypark Arena. LVC moved to 0-0-1, while the Eagles now sit at 0-2-1.

Through the first two periods, neither team was able to score as Post's Danaee St-Germain and Jill Moffatt were stellar in net, however LVC finally broke through and scored the game's first goal when Nikki Lloyd, last season's team leader in goals and points, skated through defenders on the power play and ripped a shot past the Eagles' goalie off an assist from Chloe Glass, her first collegiate point, giving the Dutchmen a 1-0 lead early on in the third period.

LVC continued to weather the storm, but right after Post's power play ended, with 37 seconds remaining in the third, Sierra Alarid scored from Ann M. Disciscio, tying the game and sending it into an eventual overtime.
In the extra five-minute period, the Dutchmen earned a power play at the 3:28 mark, but was unable to take advantage. Moffatt made her biggest save of the night in the final minute of OT, as Alarid created a breakaway for herself, but Moffatt saved her shot and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
